State Rep. John Deffenbaugh, R-Lookout Mountain, will join other Georgia and Alabama lawmakers in a joint study committee.
Georgia House Speaker David Ralston announced Deffenbaugh's appointment to the Georgia-Alabama committee this afternoon. Deffenbaugh joins four other Georgia representatives on the committee.
The legislature voted in April to create the group, which will meet to discuss issues that apply to both Georgia and Alabama. The committee will work together off and on through December 2016.
