Knoxville police backtrack on proposed restrictive video policy

KNOXVILLE - Police Chief David Rausch today said he will not impose a blanket ban on the release to the public of video from cruiser dash cams.

The News Sentinel on Wednesday exposed the proposed blanket ban on the release of the footage from Knoxville Police Department dashcams in most cases.

"The release of requested videos to members of the public or media will continue," stated a release from the city.
