A 70-year-old Johnson City man has been jailed on a charge that he assaulted a woman with a cane.

Police were called to the 52-year-old woman's home Friday night. When they arrived, they found her bleeding from her head.

She told police she had an argument with Frederick "Moses" Taylor at her apartment, and he used a cane to hit her on the head. The woman was taken to a local hospital, where she was treated and released.

The Johnson City Press reports Taylor was charged with aggravated assault.

He was booked into the Washington County Detention Center, where he was held on $10,000 bond awaiting a court appearance Monday.
