An Ooltewah man accused of beating a 14-year-old boy was arrested Saturday -- the second time in three months that the man has been charged with child abuse.

The 14-year-old boy told investigators that Christopher Brock, 38, repeatedly hit him with a video game cable, punched him, beat his head against the floor and threw objects at him.

He also said that Brock turned over a couch and a mattress and dumped out drawers during the incident.

The child said Brock became upset during an argument about missing keys. The boy said he escaped the assault through a bathroom window and called police from a neighbor's house.

Brock told deputies he turned the couch over because the boy stole food and hid it under the couch, and he threw the mattress on the floor because he found dirty laundry under the bed. He said he did not hit the 14-year-old.

A doctor who examined the boy told investigators with the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office the boy's injuries matched his version of events. Brock was charged with aggravated child abuse.

On Monday, Brock declined to comment and redirected questions to his attorney, Marty Levitt.

"He denies that he is guilty, and we'll deal with it in court," Levitt said. "He is presumed innocent, and that is what we intend to pursue."

Levitt also represents Brock in an earlier child abuse charge from a February incident. In that case, an unidentified boy told investigators Brock spanked him so severely the child was bruised on his buttocks and legs. Brock was charged with one count of child abuse.

It's unclear from the report whether the same child was involved in both incidents.

By Monday, Brock had posted a $100,000 bond on the aggravated child abuse charge and was released from the Hamilton County Jail.
