UPDATE: Body found in lake at Dalton, Ga., park sent to crime lab

A body was found in the lake at Al Rollins Park in Dalton this morning, local police say.

The body was reported to police by a passerby around 7:30 this morning, according to a news release.

At 12:50 p.m., Dalton police added that investigators removed the body from the lake. It will be sent to a crime lab at the Georgia Bureau of Investigation for an autopsy to determine the cause of death, a release stated.

Police say the body belongs to a Hispanic man, but do not yet have positive confirmation on the identity.

There were no signs of obvious injuries to the body nor were there any signs of struggle or foul play at the scene, police said.

The park has been reopened to the public.
