Severe weather, hail, rain coming this way

The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm warning for Bradley County and Hamilton County until 4:45 p.m.

At 3:51 p.m. a severe thunderstorm was located near South Cleveland moving north at 20 miles per hour. The weather service has warned of 60 mile-per-hour gusts of wind and penny size hail as indicated on radar. Damage could occur to roofs, siding and trees. Locations impacted include Chattanooga, Cleveland, Charleston, South Cleveland, East Cleveland, Wildwood Lake, Collegedale, McDonald, Apison, Flint Springs, Ooltewah, East Brainerd, Hopewell, Waterville, Tasso, Harrison bay and East Ridge.

Large hail and damaging winds and continuous cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm, according to the weather service, which advises residents to move inside immediately.

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to flash flooding.
