Louisiana-born R&B singer Bryson "Cupid" Bernard made a special trip to Chattanooga on Monday to celebrate TechTown's first summer camps and surprise campers with a performance of his hit "Cupid Shuffle."

But Cupid said he isn't here just to perform - he said he sees himself collaborating with TechTown students in the future for his musical projects.

"I want to inspire the kids and get them excited Imagination is endless here," he said of TechTown. "There's no limits here [for the kids]. I'm looking forward to bringing my ideas here and seeing what they think about to come up with a big collaboration. Let's blow things up online. Opportunities for this are endless - I feel like a kid now just being here."

TechTown, the brainchild of local businessman Paul Cummings and spearheaded by CEO Cordell Carter, has been 10 years in the making.

Monday marked the first day of the first session of summer camps for kids ages 7-17 that will offer coding, robotics, videography and more.

"Don't ever think that dreams can't come true because his did and yours can," Cummings told his first group of campers after announcing Cupid's arrival. "You can do anything."
