Chattanooga police respond to car crash, find man with gunshot wound that later claims his life

Chattanooga police responding to a two-vehicle crash on North Market Street Monday night found that one of the people involved in the crash was suffering from a gunshot wound.

The gunshot victim and another person were transported to the hospital, where the gunshot victim died from his injuries. A third person involved in the accident was stable and didn't require medical attention.

The release said that the shooting and the car accident were two separate incidents. The shooting occurred at 310 Sylvan St., and the accident occurred at 709 N. Market St. The accident call came in at 8:45 p.m., according to the release.
