A 2-month-old baby died Monday in the care of a baby sitter in LaFayette, Ga., according to police.

Investigators involved in the case have not pressed charges in connection with the death, and currently believe the baby died of natural causes.

A child death investigation team composed of the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, the coroner, local law enforcement and the Department of Children's Services is following protocol and investigating the baby's death, said Greg Ramey, special agent in charge with the GBI. Any time a child is seriously injured or dies, this team is formed to determine the cause.

"At this point we don't have any indication of [foul play]," said Ramey. "We are currently waiting on the autopsy results and several other reports before the official cause of death will be determined."

The baby was found not breathing by a baby sitter, who called 911. Police say the baby was rushed by EMS to Hutcheson Medical Center and was pronounced dead at the hospital.
