Dewayne LlewellynA long-serving detective with the Walker County Sheriff's Office was arrested on Tuesday and charged with misdemeanor battery.
On Sunday night, Detective Sergeant Dewayne Llewellyn got into a domestic argument with his wife at their home in north Walker County. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation looked into the case and determined that Llewellyn struck his wife with his hand during the argument, causing discoloration and swelling to her face and eye, according to a news release from Sheriff Steve Wilson.
Llewellyn was arrested on Tuesday and released on $1,000 bond. He was also terminated from the Sheriff's Office, after more than 13 years of employment, the release states.
