Police: East TN attacker left victim voicemail apologizing for stabbing him 8 times

An assault victim told Morristown police that his attacker left a voicemail on his phone, apologizing for stabbing him eight times in the back with a large kitchen knife.

The stabbing happened late Saturday night at a home on Fairview Road in Morristown. During a traffic stop, officers noticed that a truck's passenger, George Brock Hance, 52, had been stabbed several times. Crews flew Hance, who had serious internal injuries, to the University of Tennessee Medical Center. As of Monday, Hance was still in the hospital where he's listed as stable.

Hance told police that Sterling Morgan of Morristown stabbed him and left a voicemail on his cell phone apologizing for the attack.
