A drunk driver crashed into a school bus in Dalton this morning, police say.

Nobody was hurt when a First Student school bus was rear-ended before 7 a.m. on Waugh Street, according to a news release from the Dalton Police Department. There were two students on board at the time as well as two First Student employees.

61-year-old William Hughes of 2213 Raintree Way in Dalton was arrested on a charge of DUI after the crash.

Preliminary investigation of the crash indicates the bus was traveling westbound on the Waugh Street bridge and had just started downhill on the west side of the bridge when Hughes' pickup truck came over the bridge and struck the bus from behind, police said.
