The puppies found sealed in a cardboard box labeled "stuff animals" outside a Goodwill drop-off site on Highway 58 are healthy, happy and available for adoption from McKamey Animal Center starting today.

The center threw an adoption party for the three puppies, named Marilyn Monroe, Greta Garbo and Bette Davis, who were discovered on April 18 when a woman noticed the box that contained them was moving. She tore a hole in the box and found the puppies, estimated to be between 9 and 11 weeks old, overheated, covered in urine, and suffering from neglect.

The pups have made a full recovery thanks to the efforts of McKamey staff and volunteers. They've been vaccinated, spayed and microchipped.

As of Tuesday afternoon, Marilyn had been adopted, but Greta and Bette are still available.

McKamey Animal Center is located at 4500 N. Access Rd., Chattanooga, TN. The phone number is 423-305-6500.
