Housing authority employee charged with stealing $10,000 worth of jewelry

Police in LaFayette, Ga., arrested a LaFayette Housing Authority employee Thursday on charges of stealing more than $10,000 worth of jewelry from residents at the apartments.

According to an arrest warrant affidavit, 46-year-old Lori Michelle Baker sneaked into five women's apartments between Feb. 20 and May 2 and stole wedding rings, necklaces, earrings and lockets. Baker had a master key to the apartments as a LaFayette Housing Authority employee.

The victims all live on Foster Circle in LaFayette.
