General Motors' OnStar feature helped deputies nab a man on drug charges.

The DeKalb County (Ala.) Sheriff's Office says it received a call from OnStar that the service had the location of a stolen vehicle on County Road 359 in the Whiton community.

When deputies arrived at the residence, Nathan Brandon Shaneyfelt, 33 of Gadsden, claimed that he borrowed it from a friend, according to a news release from the sheriff's office.

Upon searching Shaneyfelt, deputies found Heroin on him, the release said. The vehicle was towed back to the owner.

Shaneyfelt was arrested and charged with possession of controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia, according to the release. Shaneyfelt was booked at the DeKalb County Detention Center where he awaits bond.
