Catoosa County Sheriff Gary Sisk said no charges have been filed against the mother of a toddler who was found walking in the middle of a Ringgold, Ga., road Friday morning.

Concerned motorists spotted the unattended, half-naked girl, estimated to be between 3 and 4 years old, walking on Three Notch Road just north of Battlefield Parkway.

A few motorists stopped and pulled the child out of harm's way before contacting the Catoosa County Sheriff's Department.

Sisk said officers took the child, clad in what appeared to be a sleep shirt and no bottoms, around to nearby houses until she was able to identify her home. Sisk said the child's mother was unaware the child left the house.

Though Sisk said children wandering off isn't uncommon, he said he would be notifying the Georgia Division of Family and Children's Services to do a follow-up.
