Update: Woman injured in broad daylight robbery at Hamilton Place Mall

Police revealed new details Wednesday afternoon as officers continue to search for two black females who attempted to violently wrest control of two victims' purses.

Victims Dreama Dean and Mary Murray told police they were walking to their car just before 11 a.m. after leaving Hamilton Place Mall, when they were approached by two black females near the Barnes & Noble.

The suspects attempted to grab the purses of the victims, who fought to maintain control of their handbags. One of the suspects shoved Dean to the ground, causing her to suffer a head injury and let go of her purse. The second suspect was unsuccessful in grabbing Murray's purse, and both fled to a silver or champagne-colored sedan - possible a Honda - with a black male driver at the wheel, police say.

The trio then fled the scene.

The first suspect is a black female about five feet, eight inches tall with a medium build, wearing dark pants and a light jacket. The second suspect is a black female about five feet, ten inches tall with a medium build. She was wearing dark clothes and a light top.

Police ask anyone with information regarding this crime to call 423-698-2525.

The vehicle was reported to not have a visible tag at the time of this robbery.

Chattanooga police say they have increased patrols and visibility in the area.
