Erlanger hospital board chairman Donnie Hutcherson is stepping down after serving seven years, saying he wants to spend more time with his family and his business.

The board elects a new chairman every year, and Hutcherson was replaced Thursday evening by Jack Studer.

Hutcherson, an accountant, announced after the vote that he would be leaving the board entirely.

"I originally signed on for four years, and it has now been seven," he said.

He thanked Erlanger CEO Kevin Spiegel, who he helped recruit, as well as other top Erlanger officials, for their cooperation.

He also honored Kittie Quinn, the executive assistant to the board of trustees and to Spiegel, for her service.

The board will honor Hutcherson in a ceremony at its next meeting, according to Erlanger spokeswoman Pat Charles.

Studer is well-known as a local tech entrepreneur. He is a partner at the Lamp Post Group, a local venture incubator, and chief operating officer at Torch, a local tech startup.
