ATLANTA - A man has pleaded guilty to the murder of a nine-month-old boy.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution (http://on-ajc.com/1Nm6l2g) reports that 20-year-old Devin Thomas will serve life plus 20 years, avoiding the death penalty for Kendarious Edwards' death.

Thomas will be eligible for parole in 50 years.

Prosecutors have said the toddler's death was retaliation for the assault and death of Thomas' friend and fellow Bloods gang member. They said the toddler's uncle was accused of killing Thomas' associate.
