David L. Moses, 34, died after hitting a tree on his motorcycle Tuesday evening in McMinn County, Tenn., according to a preliminary report by the Tennessee Highway Patrol.
Moses was traveling south on County Road 168 at 5:44 p.m. when he drove around a curve, and swerved into the wrong lane. He overcorrected, the report said, and lost control of his 2006 Suzuki motorcycle, swerving off the road where he struck a tree before coming to rest down an embankment.
He succumbed to his injuries and died on the scene, the report said.
Moses was wearing a helmet and authorities do not suspect he was under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Further tests have been ordered, though. The Tennessee Highway Patrol will not do a follow-up report.
