Hamilton County Sheriff's deputies say missing off-duty K-9 anxious to get back with handler, family

The Hamilton County Sheriff's Office has confirmed that K-9 Deputy Kada has been located and is safe and sound, an official press release said.

It was noted by deputies, that she was very anxious to get back to her handler and family.

Moving forward, every precaution will be taken to review her pen's construction as well the manner in which she was able to escape.

The HCSO would like to thank the residents of Hamilton County for their assistance in helping to safely locate K-9 Deputy Kada.

K-9 Deputy Kada was located after the resident who found her saw a post shared from the HCSO Facebook page and contacted local authorities.

The Hamilton County Sheriff's Office is asking for community assistance in locating one of its off-duty K-9's, an official press release said.

K-9 Deputy Kada, a 50 pound, female Dutch Shepherd went missing late this afternoon from her handlers residence in East Ridge. It is believed she may have traveled as far as the Belvoir or Marlboro, area.

Kada is approximately 5 years old and is very social and good natured. She was last seen wearing a black and grey nylon collar accompanied by a silver chain . It is believed she was able to escape by climbing her pen's wall and working her way under the pen's roof proving that she is ever as good at escaping as she is catching law breakers.

Please note, the deputies responsible for taking care of K-9 deputies take every precaution to safeguard and protect the security, health, and safety of their partners. The HCSO takes lost K-9's very seriously.
