Teens charged with arson after three fires in Chattanooga

Two teenagers are charged with arson after three fires were set in Chattanooga, according to the city fire department.

On Wednesday, a fire occurred at the carport area of a residence at 1715 Long Street. On Aug. 30, fires occurred at both a storage building at 4701 Divine Avenue and at 1400 East 51st Street, in which a fire destroyed the semi-trailer of a tractor-trailer unit, a release stated.

A 15-year-old was taken into custody in the Long Street fire, and a 13-year-old was charged in the other two blazes. Both were taken to the Hamilton County Juvenile Detention Center by the Chattanooga Police Department, the release said.
