Former Chattanooga councilwoman Pam Ladd will be the chief operating officer for Partnership for Families, Children and Adults, the group's board of directors announced Friday.

Ladd will also serve as interim chief executive officer until the board hires a new one. Ladd will be taking over for current CEO Sandra Hollett, who retires at the end of the month.

Carol Mastey, Partnership board chairman, said, "Pam's diverse and broad experience in community leadership and entrepreneurism, as well as her passion for leading high performing teams will continue Partnership's success in responding to the evolving needs of the community.

"We are continuing our search for chief executive officer and anticipate successfully identifying a candidate by the first of the year."

The organization began in 1877 as the Ladies Aid Society. Last year, Partnership said it impacted the lives of 75,000 people. The group has a round-the-clock domestic violence and sexual assault hotline and offers crisis resources, elder services and deaf services, among others.

Ladd will be focused on community relations and new business development, the announcement said. Along with being a councilwoman, Ladd has also been assistant vice president at UNUM Provident and started and ran her own business.

The departing CEO, Hollett, said in the release she is pleased with Ladd's hiring.

"Recognizing the positive journey Partnership has made during my nine-year tenure here, I'm proud to leave Partnership as a strong, impactful and financially sound agency," she said in the release. "I'm personally grateful for the community support given to the fine work of the Partnership."
