Paul Lee, a professional wrestler running for Ringgold mayor, has been ruled ineligible to run for office by the Ringgold Elections Superintendent, according to current vice mayor Nick Millwood.

This comes after a hearing Wednesday where Millwood - who is also running for mayor - challenged Lee's candidacy by saying he hasn't been a Ringgold resident for at least 12 months, a requirement for a mayoral candidate.

"Our Superintendent made a ruling that protects the integrity of our elections," Millwood said in an email. "Voting and running for city office in Ringgold is a privilege reserved for our residents. I commend her for doing the right thing."
