Chattanooga police have charged a man with attempted first degree murder after a teenager arrived at a hospital last night with a gunshot wound to the head.

Kadarius Johnson, 19, was taken to Erlanger Medical Center via a personal vehicle after 8 p.m., police said in a news release. Authorities said his injury was serious, but non-life-threatening.

Johnson reportedly told police that while he was driving he was followed by a white SUV, starting around 1300 Dodson Ave. Near 500 East 3rd Street, the driver of the SUV pulled alongside of him and began shooting, he said.

Police later found a vehicle matching the description. It was driven by 31-year-old Osei Hakeem Oba Sorrell. Police recovered a loaded handgun and ammunition from under the driver's seat, the release said. Sorrell was also charged with aggravated assault.
