Police hear gunfire, find 22-year-old fatally shot in Sky Zoo parking lot

Police on patrol this morning may have heard the shots that killed a 22-year-old man.

During a routine patrol, police heard gunfire near the Sky Zoo on the 5700 block of Lee Highway.

Responding to the scene, they found a man in the parking lot of the Sky Zoo who had been fatally shot.

Though the police began administering first aid, the victim was later pronounced dead at the scene.

Police have identified the victim as Robert Jackson III, 22.

Violent Crimes investigators are following up on all actionable leads.
