A man suspected to have pulled off a January 2016 burglary at a Bradley County Piggly Wiggly Supermarket was caught in Hopkins County, Texas after a string of burglaries from Texas to Tennessee pointed back to him.

Christopher Lee Chambers allegedly cut a hole in the roof of the Piggly Wiggly and removed the safe with more than $10,000 inside.

A Charleston, Tenn. officer located the stolen safe in the back of a truck that was reported stolen on the same day of the burglary. Evidence inside the truck made Chambers a suspect.

Police found Chambers was linked to several other burglaries across the United States after further investigation, each with the same methodology, a hole being cut in the roof and a safe being removed.

Chambers is currently being held on a $500,000 bond, as he awaits extradition back to Bradley County on warrants for burglary and theft over $10,000.

Bradley County Sheriff Eric Watson said, "I want to thank my detectives along with the Charleston Police Department for their hard work during this investigation. Mr. Chambers' actions affected communities across several states, and I'm thankful he can no longer victimize any more businesses. Many times it takes a cooperative effort when dealing with criminal activity on this scale."
