Chattanooga police investigate in the 1500 block of Arlington Avenue on Monday night following reports of shots fired in the area.A woman was shot near the intersection of Arlington Avenue and Wilcox Boulevard on Monday night as a violent several days in Chattanooga continued.
Chattanooga police confirmed that 24-year-old Sharia Reynolds was shot in the leg while in a parked vehicle near the 1500 block of Arlington Avenue about 9:10 p.m.
Police said her injuries were not life-threatening and she was treated by Hamilton County Emergency Services and transported to a local hospital as police swarmed to the area.
The suspected shooter was seen in a silver Jeep Liberty going north on Arlington Avenue, according to police.
An officer at the scene said a round of 10 or 11 shots broke out about a block to the north just minutes after Reynolds was shot.
"This is a crazy night," muttered one nearby resident as squad cars sped past in all directions, just minutes after the gunfire subsided.
