Alabama fast-food worker shot in face during robbery attempt

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - Police say a Tuscaloosa fast-food employee was shot in the face during an early morning attempted robbery.

AL.com reports that Tuscaloosa County Metro Homicide Unit Capt. Gary Hood says police responded to a shooting at the McDonald's restaurant at 4422 East University Blvd. at 4:15 a.m. on Wednesday.

Hoods says the 52-year-old employee told police that three men wearing masks tried to gain entry to the restaurant through the back door. He says when the employee refused to open the door, one of the men shot him and then all three suspects ran toward Highway 216.

The victim was taken to DCH Regional Medical Center. He is expected to survive his injuries.
