Crash seriously injures motorcyclist near Blue Hole Pocket Wilderness

Authorities are investigating a single vehicle crash involving a motorcycle near the 400 block of Montlake Road in Soddy-Daisy near the entrance to the Blue Hole Pocket Wilderness, according to a Hamilton County Sheriff's Office news release.

Traffic investigators say the driver of the motorcycle was heading east down the bottom of the mountain when the crash happened. No other vehicles were involved and it's unclear what caused the crash.

The victim was taken to a local hospital with critical injuries.

The accident site has been cleared and Montlake Road has been re-opened.
