Naked man in 'drug-induced rage' injures Georgia police officers

SAVANNAH, Ga. - Police in Savannah say several officers were injured while grappling with a naked man in a "drug-induced rage" who smashed a restaurant's windows and damaged several cars before breaking into a home and attacking its owner.

Savannah-Chatham County police said in a news release Thursday that 21-year-old Brandyn Johnson was charged with aggravated assault, aggravated battery and other crimes after officers subdued him using pepper spray and Tasers.

Officers responded at 2 a.m. Thursday to a report of a nude man causing damage outside a restaurant. Police say he fled, broke into a house and assaulted the owner, who was taken to a hospital.

Police spokeswoman Michelle Gavin said Johnson injured several officers. She declined to say how many. It was not immediately known whether Johnson had an attorney.
