A severe thunderstorm warning was in effect for Sequatchie County, Bledsoe County and north central Hamilton County until 9:45 a.m. EST, according to the National Weather Service.
The storm moved east at 30 mph with gusts up to 60 mph.
The National Weather Service urged residents to move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building.
