A medical problem, not an attack, took the life of a Silverdale Detentions Facility inmate, according to the Hamilton County Medical Examiner's Office.

A statement from the Hamilton County Sheriff's office says:

"The Hamilton County Medical Examiner's Office has notified the HCSO that they have concluded their preliminary examination of the deceased inmate identified as Madison Bailee Deal, age 26.

"This preliminary examination determined that Madison Bailee Deal's death was due to a medical event and not a result of physical trauma.

"The final autopsy report is pending micro biology and toxicology reports.

"The Hamilton County Sheriff's Office's investigation is ongoing."

Deal died early Thursday at Erlanger hospital, where she was taken from Silverdale.

She was arrested Aug. 10 on a charge of violating probation on a misdemeanor theft charge.

Hamilton County District Attorney General Neal Pinkston asked Sheriff Jim Hammond to investigate the death.

That investigation is ongoing, sheriff's spokesman Matt Lea said in the release.
