A father who led police on a 10-day search for him and his two-year-old daughter has waived his extradition in Grand Junction, Colo. and will be returning to Bradley County soon for custodial interference.

Michael Wilson, 35, failed to return his daughter, Skyla Lashae Miller to her custodial grandmother after his visitation expired Aug. 7.

That prompted a 10-day cross country search which ended in Colorado when law enforcement officers intercepted the pair Wednesday evening on Interstate 70 in Mesa County, arresting Wilson on an outstanding warrant of custodial interference.

Miller "appeared to be unharmed" and authorities placed her in the care of the Mesa County Department of Human Services until reunited with her grandmother, according to the Grand Junction Police Department blog.
