Chattanooga's bomb squad responded after an unidentified caller reported finding an old unexploded artillery round in Sequatchie County.

Sequatchie County detectives initially responded to the scene and identified the round as a 75mm round dating back to WWII. They contacted the Chattanooga bomb squad, which advised officers to take the round to an open field, away from the public in order to prevent any injury.

Technicians from Chattanooga's bomb squad arrived and performed a controlled detonation, rendering the round safe, according to a news release.

A video released by the Sequatchie County Sheriff's office showed part of the process of controlled detonation.
