Lost hiker rescued at Rainbow Falls

A woman hiker who got lost at the Rainbow Falls Trail area on Signal Mountain was rescued safely Saturday afternoon.

Amy Maxwell, spokeswoman for Hamilton County Emergency Services, said the call came in at 5:35 p.m. and rescue teams hit the trail within moments. They hiked about a mile in and found the woman at 6:04 p.m.

She was not injured, and the rescuers walked her out of the woods.

During the rescue efforts, Walden's Ridge Emergency Services stood by at Signal Mountain's fire station for any additional emergency calls in their district. Hamilton County EMS was also on the scene for any potential injuries to rescue personnel.
