Chattanooga under severe thunderstorm watch

Bradley County also under warning

Power lines were reported down in northeast Hamilton County after a severe thunderstorm warning was issued for the area.

The National Weather Service issued the warning at 4:09 p.m. for southwestern Bradley County and Hamilton County.

The warning lasts until 5 p.m. and warned of wind gusts reaching 60 miles per hour.

Hamilton County dispatchers received a call about downed power lines on University Drive in Collegedale at 4:13 p.m. Dispatchers received another call about downed power lines in the 9400 block of State Street in Ooltewah at 4:18 p.m.

Chattanooga, Cleveland, Sodd-Daisy, Signal Mountain, Walden, Lakeside, Harrison, Collegedale, Ooltewah, East Brainerd and Apison are among the areas that could be affected, according to the National Weather Service.

The warning said to expect damage to roofs, siding and trees.
