DeKalb County, Ala., authorities found $22,000 worth of pot in Henagar that was spotted by state drug agents in a helicopter.
The marijuana plants were spotted Tuesday on County Road 687 on the property of Tyler Cole Davis, 27, who was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana, first-degree, and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, Sheriff Jimmy Harris said in a statement.
In an unrelated investigation, Dina Cortez, 27, of Albertville, was charged Aug. 27 by Alabama state troopers with trafficking illegal drugs, unlawful possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia and chemical endangerment of a child.
The endangerment charge stems from Cortez being found to be pregnant, according to Harris. Cortez was stopped on a routine violation and found to have outstanding arrest warrants.
