Traffic shift starts Saturday on East Brainerd Road for Graysville project

A new traffic alignment on East Brainerd Road in the construction area will affect the Hurricane Creek area, the state transportation department says.

On Saturday, the contractor will shift eastbound through traffic on East Brainerd at Hurricane Creek into the left turn lane and close the eastbound through lane, a Tennessee Department of Transportation news release states.

Traffic heading west toward Graysville Road won't change lanes but will lost access to the westbound left-turn lane.

The contractor will move the stop bar on Hurricane Creek Road back 35 to 40 feet and no right turns on red will be allowed. This is to prevent northbound traffic on Hurricane Creek from interfering with traffic turning onto the street from eastbound East Brainerd.

The release said traffic is scheduled to remain in this alignment until Dec. 19.
