The fatal Woodmore Elementary school bus crash on Nov. 21 rocked the community and left 25 families in shock.
The day following the crash the Community Foundation and the United Way of Greater Chattanooga launched The Woodmore Fund, which continues to raise money for the families affected by the crash of bus No. 366.
In the days after the crash, police officials warned about scams masquerading as alternative Woodmore Funds. The Woodmore Fund operated by the Community Foundation and the United Way is the only official fund set up to benefit the victims of the Woodmore bus crash.
Since the fund was launched more than 2,000 people have donated, and today The Woodmore Fund launched a video asking for continued support for these families.
"Those we love will not be overcome, not be overcome, not on our watch," people in the video state. "We must give, and give, and give."
Last week the immediate families of the children involved in the accident received a disbursement from the fund after they completed required paperwork. A second distribution of funds is expected before the holidays.
