Man arrested following home invasion in Hixson with two other suspects

A man is in jail after police say he and two other suspects burglarized a Hixson home and threatened the victims with a stun gun.

The incident occurred around 6:30 a.m. Saturday when three suspects entered a home on Thomas Lane, according to a news release from the Chattanooga Police Department.

The victims, a 47-year-old man and a 25-year-old woman, said they were awoken by one suspect who threatened them with a stun gun while two other suspects gathered the victims' money and belongings.

Police said one of the victims disarmed the suspect with the stun gun and chased him down, detaining him until police arrived. The other two suspects left in an SUV-style vehicle.

Brandon Bettis, 25, was arrested and booked into the Hamilton County Jail after being treated at a local hospital for injuries suffered during his apprehension by the victim. He is charged with aggravated burglary, aggravated robbery and had numerous other warrants out on him.

Investigators are currently pursuing leads, and the investigation is ongoing.
