The man accused of a Christmas Eve shooting in Hixson had his charges bound to a grand jury Tuesday.
Frederick Vick, 25, is charged with attempted first degree murder for shooting Kenneth Redman at a Kangaroo gas station.
Redman was shot in the leg and his injuries were not life threatening, police said after the Dec. 24 incident.
Vick's appearance in front of General Sessions judge Clarence Shattuck lasted barely a minute. But in that time, a witness in the case collapsed on a bench in the gallery.
Off-duty emergency responders in the courtroom rushed to her aide. The woman said she was startled to see Vick.
