Roads flooded, trees down across Chattanooga region

UPDATED:

City and county authorities now report that the only roads with problems as of10:39 a.m. are the following:

Cummings Highway at the Interstate 24 exit ramp;

7600 Davidson Road at Gunbarrel Road;

10700 Dolly Pond Road at James Bowman Trail;

300 McCallie Ferry Road at McGill Road;

400 Patterson Road at Rock Creek Road;

13000 McGill Road at Old Dayton Pike.

Hamilton County and Chattanooga authorities have released an advisory list for roads currently experiencing weather-related problems.

Flooding reported at:

East Brainerd Road at Brainerd Road;

Cummings Highway at the Interstate 24 exit ramp;

Davidson Road at Gunbarrel Road;

5200 Hunter Road at Ooltewah-Harrison Road.

10700 Dolly Pond Road at James Bowman Trail;

300 McCallie Ferry Road at McGill Road;

400 Patterson Road at Rock Creek Road.

Swift running water is reported on 13000 MncGill Road at Old Dayton Pike and wires are down at 1698 Crabtree Road at Middle Valley Road.

Trees are reported down at 600 Pan Gap Road at Elder Mountain Road and at Mayhan Gap Road and Firetower Road.

A mud slide was reported at 5400 White Oak Lane at Pine Street.

Electrical wires reported down at 8126 Bell Mill Road at Mountain Pass Road.

The roadway is washed out at 2100 Welch Road at Mowbray Pike.

Authorities remind drivers to avoid downed power lines and report downed lines to EPB by calling 423-648-1372.

If an area or street is flooded but not yet closed to the public, residents should call and report the problem to 311 or 423-698-2525. Do not attempt to pass.

With flooding and damage related closings, the Chattanooga Police Department reminds everyone to avoid driving or walking through flooded areas and to take extra precautions to ensure the safety of all.
