Shooting victim airlifted after masked men invade home

A shooting victim has been airlifted for emergency medical attention after he was shot in a home invasion.

It happened in the Kilpatrick community of DeKalb County, Ala., around 8 last night, according to a news release from Sheriff Jimmy Harris.

The victim told deputies two Hispanic males with hoodies and black and white bandanas on their faces knocked on the door. When he went to answer, he says the men shoved the door open, entered, and shot him in the left upper thigh.

The victim was taken to Marshall Medical South where he was airlifted to the University of Alabama at Birmingham medical center.

The FBI has been asked to aide in the investigation.

A $1,000 reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the suspects. Anyone with information is asked to call 256-845-3801.
