Police: Tennessee doctor fatally stabbed by husband

Metro Nashville police say a man has turned himself in after fatally stabbing his wife, who was a doctor at the Metro Public Health Department.

The Metro Nashville Police Department said in a news release that 44-year-old William Thomas-Trudo walked into a police station Thursday afternoon with a cut on his hand and said he had just killed his wife.

Authorities found 53-year-old Dr. Sandra Thomas-Trudo dead in her Belle Meade apartment with multiple stab wounds. Police say the victim was the chief epidemiologist for the health department.

Police said that after the suspect surrendered, he declined to answer any further questions.

William Thomas-Trudo was charged Thursday night with first-degree murder in his wife's death. It is unclear whether he has an attorney.
