Man charged in connection to Saturday's double shooting in Chattanooga

A man has been charged with aggravated assault and reckless endangerment after police said he shot two people Saturday.

Chattanooga police said Deonta Byrd, 26, was fighting with Damieon Coonrod in the 1500 block of Tunnel Boulevard when Byrd pulled a gun and began firing. Coonrod, 22, was hit four times in the legs and buttocks. Another witness, Cornelia Walker, 42, was hit once in the leg. Neither's injuries were considered life-threatening, police said.
