A 25-year-old man drove the wrong way on Highway 153 around 2 a.m. today and caused a three-vehicle crash, according to Chattanooga police.

Bradford Bailey drove his Jeep north in the southbound lanes of Highway 153, and entered the road from the E. Brainerd exit ramp, police said.

He crashed head-on into a pickup truck, and then moments later, a motorcyclist came up on the crash and also collided with the Jeep. Police said the motorcyclist was unable to avoid the crash because of the low light, and because the Jeep was sideways in the center of the Highway 153, I-75 split.

The motorcyclist was thrown from the bike and seriously injured, but expected to survive.

Bailey and the pickup truck driver suffered injuries that were not life-threatening.

Bailey was arrested and charged with driving under the influence, driving the wrong way on a one way, reckless endangerment, failure to exercise due care and driving without a driver's license.
