1 killed, 1 wounded in shooting at Memphis trucking company

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) - Police say a man has been charged with murder after a fatal shooting at a Memphis trucking company.

Memphis police spokeswoman Karen Rudolph says one person was killed and another person was wounded in the shooting at Hammond Transportation in southeast Memphis on Wednesday. Rudolph says the wounded person was taken to a hospital in non-critical condition.

Witness Craig Chambers told The Commercial Appeal that he saw an armed man chase another man out of Hammond Transportation and open fire.

Rudolph said Thursday that Charles Hammond was arrested and charged with first degree murder and attempted murder. He is being held without bond. Online court records do not show if he has a lawyer.

Memphis police have not released the names of the shooting victims.
