MACON, Ga. (AP) - Authorities say a woman was bound and gagged by her 59-year-old Macon husband and forced into his car at knifepoint before she managed to escape.

Citing an arrest warrant from the Bibb County Sheriff's Office, The Telegraph reports that Terry Lynn Porter Sr. tied up his wife and stuffed a sock in her mouth early Tuesday, telling her he was going to kill her.

Deputies say Porter then drove his wife toward her daughter's house, where he said he would kill her daughter in front of her.

Authorities say Porter was headed toward Atlanta when the woman managed to escape. It is not clear how she escaped.

Porter was arrested Wednesday afternoon and faces numerous charges including aggravated assault and kidnapping. It's unclear whether he has an attorney.
