MURFREESBORO - Luis Omar Ocasio-Capo, one of the 50 people killed during the mass shooting in an Orlando, Fla., nightclub early Sunday, graduated from La Vergne High School in 2015, according to his former principal.

Ocasio-Capo, 20, graduated from La Vergne High in May 2015, said La Vergne High School Principal Dirk Ash. The principal did not personally know Ocasio-Capo, he said.

The 20-year-old was one of the first victims publicly identified by City of Orlando less than 24 hours after a Florida man killed 49 people at a gay nightclub early Sunday morning in Orlando. The suspect in the shootings was killed by law enforcement hours after the incident began.
